Happy New Year! 2015 is finally here, however I feel like I've been in it for about a month now but today it's official. Not only is it the first day of a brand new year, today Kaylista is officially one month old, how time flies. I took a week off from blogging but it felt like a month because it has become part of my daily life, I enjoy doing it so much. The hours shooting, editing (no Photoshop, I promise), planning, research, even becoming some sort of IT specialist overnight, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Although I haven't been blogging, I've been coming up with new and exciting ideas for 2015.
Kaylista will be adding beauty and lifestyle features to the blog soon which I'm incredibly excited about, I love all things fashion not just as a hobby but as a lifestyle and I feel like all aspects of it should be portrayed on my blog. I've also got exciting fashion projects that I'm currently working on and cannot wait to share but for now it's all hush-hush.
Okay so enough about all my hopes and dreams for 2015 before I end up writing a 15 page essay, the real reason we're here is because of the fashion (I hope) so let's dive right into it. The best way to describe todays look would be 'sports luxe' or as I like to call this look 'sports glam' because the gold just gives it that feeling. The sports luxe trend has really blown up in recent years but just incase you've missed it I'll give you the 411, that's why I'm here. Sports luxe is luxurious sportswear, inspired by gear worn by athletes; think, baseball jackets, basketball inspired vests, tennis skirts and the list goes on. It is built for comfort using fabrics that are light and easy to wear (like the white vest dress that I'm wearing in this post). I hope you just had an ah-ha moment.
The whole look was inspired by this really cool vest dress that I recently purchased, of course in white because unless you've been living under a rock, it's all about white this season whether you're in summer or winter. When planning this outfit I came across this gold sporty jacket that I literally purchased years ago, I even forgot about its existence. That's the great thing about fashion, it's a continuous cycle that never ends so don't be too hasty in tossing out clothes that are 'out of season' especially if you spent a good amount of money on them. If I went full-on sports luxe I would have worn sneakers with this look but that would be out of character for me and style is all about staying true to yourself. So of course I paired it with these fabulous gold heels and gold accessories to finish it off.
Thank you for reading, I hope we all stick to those dreadful New Years Resolutions that we've been making for the past 3 years.
Have a fashionable 2015!
