DENIM ON DENIM

Oh denim! Where would we be without a little bit of denim in our lives? It's ability to be comfortable, sexy and chic all at the same time is what makes it a statement piece for every living soul - whether you're into fashion or not. That's just the impact it has.

When it comes to denim, the darker the wash, the more versatile its proven to be. My rule of thumb is that you should always go with dark denims whenever doing anything work related. It's just more professional - there's something about an acid wash that just screams "DON'T TAKE ME SERIOUSLY" and trust me, as evolved as the world has become, first impressions still last. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for a boyfriend acid wash jeans that's ripped to capacity but there's a time and place for everything.

Let's talk about denim on denim for a minute. For the longest time I was not into this trend and I will be the first to admit that, in fact I'm still not sold on it. The only exception to the rule is that the respective pieces are either exactly the same colour or relatively similar; so the chances of seeing me with two completely different shades are slim to none and I stand by that.

I decided to do something a little more casual and laid back which is a rare occurrence for me. My Transformer jeans that came in from Ronald Sassoon a few days ago really inspired this look - I will be doing a full blogpost on them soon to give you all the details, they are absolutely amazing. This knit poncho really pulled the look together, giving it a sophisticated look and of course I had to add my Jeannie Jacobs pieces to finish it off.

Hope you enjoy!
