SA Fashion Week is both stressful and exciting at the same time for a blogger or anyone else in the industry for that matter. It's so fast paced and on most days you only have about 10 minutes between shows. This year I attended all five days of SA Fashion Week as media which took an incredible amount of planning, there were a few glitches here and there but we made it and have the images to prove it.
ABOUT DAY ONE
Day one was probably the most stressful day of them all. By 8:30am I was already making my way to Sandton to pick up a few last minute items to complete my looks for the week. Thanks to traffic I only had an hour to spare at Sandton before I had to dash off to my hair appointment at Ambience Hair Salon. My next stop was Mall of Africa where I had to quickly exchange a pair of sunglasses to complete my look for day three before heading to get my makeup done by Bobbi Brown. I enjoyed my time at Bobbi Brown, the girls kept me entertained but what I loved most about them is how passionate and knowledgeable they were about the brand. My makeup was done by Sharleen who has been with the brand for 8 years.
I made my way home in the knick of time but at least my hair and makeup was taken care of so all I had to do was pick out an outfit. Day one was brief, I attended the Woolworths Style by SA show which was one of my favorite shows by far. All the pieces fresh, unique but most importantly they were wearable which was a major selling point for me. Doing one show on opening night prepared us for the craziness that was about to come on day two.
