After a stressful yet amazing day one, I was a lot more prepared for SA Fashion Week day two. The shows I tend to enjoy the most are those that include young designers. There's just something about a young designer showcasing their first collection; they tend to break the rules more than seasoned designers and they have no boundaries when it comes to creativity.
The first show I attended was the Luthansa 1st Class Collections Show, showcasing the talent of four young emerging designers competing against each other for an opportunity to showcase their collection at Berlin Fashion Week. Fashion Designer Sheila-Madge Bakker was announced the winner for her collection inspired by Avant-garde with wearability.
The show was closed by London College of Fashion Alumni Edda Gimnes with a collection so breathtaking, for a minute it seemed unreal (see images below). She has been named by New York Times as one of ten "Fresh out of Fashion School" designers to watch and I can see why. My personal favorite from the Luthansa 1st Class Collections was hands down Sisiano, you can view the collection here.
