I'm back to all black and I'm feeling pretty good about it. Its' been a while since I did a head-to-toe black look. Perhaps I was inspired by my return to dark hair, regardless: it feels like home. I named this post after my third-year collection (back when I graduated from fashion college); it was all black with clean lines, a variety of textures and a lot more structure. Looking back, if I were to recreate my collection today it would definitely still be all black, however, it would be a lot more fluid, relaxed and less structured with an element of understated glam of course. That being said; I have no regrets. Fashion is moving into a more minimalistic state of mind and I'm on board. Sure I'll throw in a fur coat or two every now and then but I'm enjoying this approach. I've evolved as a designer but my chic ecstatic remains. As a designer, blogger, creative or whatever you may be; it's important to find your ecstatic and stick to it but continuously evolve. Think outside the box and don't be afraid to be a little crazy because that's what sets you apart.
"Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules... You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do."
Life is but a dream. For some reason I envision myself wearing this look on the streets of Paris as I go about my day. Comfortable enough to run from meetings to showrooms (croissant in hand of course) but chic enough for a late lunch as you watch the sunset with the most breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower. Add the trendiest shoe at the moment into this fashion montage and you're guaranteed to make fashion forward moves... one stylish stride at a time.
