They say time flies when you're having fun and boy has it been a blast. I can't believe it's been a year since I published my first blog post. I remember it like it was yesterday, the excitement, the anxiety and the struggle. I knew absolutely nothing about putting a blog post together; I've grown a lot since then and I've learnt even more.

Blogging is a continuous work in progress. I am nowhere near where I ultimately want to be but I'm certainly closer than I was yesterday. I've been on and off the radar and felt the effects of those decisions. Milestones such as this allow me to reflect on the past year, take a closer look at the work I've put in thus far and make clear-cut decisions of where I want to take my brand.

I don't consider this to be a birthday post by any measure (hence the name), that will come at a later stage with all my hopes and dreams for what I consider to be my second chapter. So until then I'll head straight into the fashion side of things.

About this look

As the name states, this is part of the items I purchased from the Balmain x H&M collection. The hype was way too much when this collection came out so I decided to wait until things cool down a bit. I obviously went with head-to-toe black as per usual and opted for a gold shoe (my new obsession). I finished the look off with a dark lip and a sleek ponytail.

Hope you enjoy!
