Today's post might come as a surprise to many of you. I've been working on fresh content for the blog and with my background in fashion, it should come as no surprise that I dabble into couture from time to time. Yes ladies and gentlemen, Kaylista is now adding couture to the fashion mix. When I started my blog, I wanted to create a space where I could have creative freedom; never bound to one category of style, something that truly represents who I am.
I've been bedridden ever since I got back from my trip to Cape Town. I love stepping into a new season but with that comes the change of season sniffles which I finally recovered from. The good thing about being forced to stay indoors is once you're over all the rest and chicken soup, you've got all the time in the world to come up with great ideas. So this post serves as the fruit of all my labour.
Perhaps you're wondering why I named this post 'Deja Vu'? This is the dress I wore to my matric dance/farewell or 'senior prom' as some of you might call it. It's been hanging in the closet, untouched for about 5 years now and it still fits me like a glove. I have many wonderful memories in this dress and it all came rushing back when I tried it on.
It seemed fitting to do this shoot in a forest setup, it complemented the details on the dress so beautifully and as you can see, it's drenched in detail and in case you're wondering, yes I did have bugs all over me and so did my photographer. So you can imagine my relief when I got home after the awkward ride in traffic (still wearing the dress) but there's nothing that a long bath can't fix right?
I hope you enjoy this post, there's many more to come!
