As most of you know from my previous blog post, I took off to Durban last week Friday for the much anticipated Durban July 2016. This year I partnered up with Lux South Africa on their "Be Bold Tour" which was perfectly aligned with this years theme "Leader of the pack". I succumbed to social media pressure by posting my look up on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook before featuring the post on my blog which is unheard-of for me. I guess the timing can't always be perfect.

Lux partnered with Riich boutique in Melrose Arch, which is where I got this black halter-neck bandage dress from. The options were endless and each dress was more amazing than the next so the decision was not an easy one. We had a store vote (yes I involved everyone at the fitting to help me choose) and it came down to something black, something pink or something burgundy. I'll be sharing all the behind-the-scenes shots in my next blog post.

The fur coat was a late but fitting addition to the outfit. I heard news of a cold front coming our way and although Durban is known for beautiful weather all year round, I couldn't risk it and thank goodness I didn't! The weather was an absolute nightmare; cold, windy and cloudy to say the least without a single ray of sunshine.

The makeup was by far my favourite part of the entire experience. We opted for a neutral golden goddess makeup look (that's exactly how I described it to the artist and she knew exactly what I meant by that) and decided on a bold lip towards the end. She did an amazing job, luckily she's from Johannesburg so we will definitely be working together again soon.
