A nautical look will always be a summer classic for me; a look that will never go out of style and always seems to be perfectly effortless. Blue and white stripes with a touch of red, the only thing missing is a fabulous hat and I’d be ready for a yacht party in the South of France.
I’ve never really been one to mix and match stripes, in fact I’ve always been a little afraid to because it can go horribly wrong. However, the stripes ran so smoothly in this look that the clash was barely noticeable, so much so that I think I found the formula to ensure you never get it wrong either.
The art in matching stripes is all about the mix between thick and slim lines; this allows for a more effortless look, especially if it’s not a matching set. This look in particular inspired a few pieces in my next collection and I can’t wait to share it. If you’re a little more adventurous than I am, try mixing around the colours of your stripes from classic blue and white to something a little more vibrant for summer. I dare you!
