Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few seasons, you'll know that khaki has taken over the fashion scene on a large scale. Not only in traditional military styles but in fashion forward pieces as well (hence the khaki vest a la Ronald Sassoon).

This serves as the first post for my 'Trend Report' - a new segment on the blog dedicated to ensuring that you stay on trend (if you're into that kind of thing). It is only the first of many more segments to come as I draw closer to the first year anniversary of my blog. It hasn't been an easy journey but the lessons I've learnt has been of great value and will come in handy as I head into my second year with stronger and more consistent content.

About this look

I fell in love with this khaki Ronald Sassoon vest as soon as I laid my eyes on it. It was one of those moments where you step into a store and immediately walk towards this one item that grabs every ounce of your attention. With khaki being the craze of the season, it made the decision rather easy. I paired the vest with leather pants to keep the edgy look, finishing it off with my favourite red lip.

How to wear khaki?

I always find it easy to pair khaki with neutral tones such as black, white and every shade of nude under the sun. Although khaki in itself can be seen as somewhat of a neutral, pairing it with the right colour makes all the difference. You can pair your favourite khaki piece with a pair of leather boots for the complete biker look or with an edgy pair of heels like I did. For some reason I find myself a lot more daring when I wear khaki; it just brings out that side of me. You should try it!

Hope you enjoy!
