For those of you who follow me on social media, you probably already know that I took a trip down to Cape Town last week for the much anticipated Vogue Eyewear Spring-Summer 2015 communication campaign launch. Victoria Secret angel Adriana Lima has been named one of three faces for the new campaign, together with Indian actress Deepika Padukone and Chinese actress Liu Shi-Shi who starred in the 2013 international campaign, making this Lima's first appearance for the brand.
The new campaign is fun, colourful and flirty which speaks to the young, curious and fashion forward female. Mariavittoria Di Stasi, Vogue Eyewear Brand Director says: "With these three models, we want to underline the importance Vogue Eyewear sees in all women throughout the world. Even though they are very different and come from different places, they are equally precious and important representations of women - each one with their own distinct style and concept of fashion."
The venue was absolutely breath-taking, the moment you walked in you were immediately transported into a world of glamour (if glamour came with an ocean view, this is exactly what it would look like). The weather was beautiful; thank goodness for Cape Town’s late sunsets which allowed us to admire the view a little longer. We were welcomed with a choice of cocktails served in jam jars or a glass of bubbly, gifted with a pair of fabulous Vogue Eyewear sunglasses and to top it all off, hairstylists and makeup artists were available to keep you looking fabulous, need I say more?
One of my best friends (which you will also know if you follow me on social media) was kind enough to accompany me to this magical evening. The headline DJ and MC for the evening was none other than 5FM house DJ Poppy Ntshongwana. The evening ended off with laughs, fashion talk and new friendships, all this under the stars with the warmth of a fire pit.
